All of our programs for teens provide them with leadership opportunities, as mentors, directors, or CITs for younger campers.

Much Ado About Nothing:

Come act and direct Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing with a musical twist! Deepen your understanding of classical text, and round out theatre skills, as you rehearse and perform in our staff-directed, Shakespeare production. Teens get on-the-job theatre and educational training as you learn to direct younger campers in scenes by the bard. You’ll get to show off all you’ve learned to friends and family on Friday, July 11th.

Dancing, acting, singing! Campers will collaborate with professional artists to create a dynamic original performance while learning skills in musical theatre movement and vocal technique. This camp is specially geared for campers of all levels of experience even if they are new to performing! Family and friends are invited on the last day Friday, July 11th to see them perform! This camp is perfect for new or returning campers. Falls Church Summer Camp registration opens the first week of February.

Educational Theatre Company is back with more acting antics! Campers will explore creative storytelling and improvisation, while enhancing vocal quality and physical self-awareness all at the same time! Through improvisation games and theatre exercises students of all levels of experience will transform into standout actors. Family and friends are invited on the last day to see their actors in ACTion! This camp is perfect for new or returning campers. Falls Church Summer Camp registration opens the first week of February.

Make your own movies, hilariously! Along with improv and other laugh-a-minute activities, all teens at Camp Comedy Studios make films. Rising 7th & 8th graders, aka ‘Cineastes’, learn to write, direct, & edit silent comedies in the classic style. Returning filmmakers ‘Auteurs’ learn to write a screenplay, direct, and edit longer original films known as their “Grand Opus” while also learning to record and edit sound. It all culminates in our Performance and Screening, Friday, July 25.

Camp Comedy Studios is an ETC STEAM Camp.

Learn to be quick on your feet and make BIG acting choices with Educational Theatre Company! Through the exploration of physical storytelling, ensemble building, and character development, participants will learn the skills of improvisation. Campers will bring to life characters, outlandish plotlines, and comedic scenarios on the spot! Campers will showcase their new comedy troupe with a performance for family and friends on the last day of camp. This camp is perfect for new or returning campers. Teens, rising 7th & up, collaborate with professional artists to bring magic to the stage in a dynamic cabaret performance, learning dance and vocal technique, while pushing themselves to new artistic heights. The final performance will be shared on the last day of camp, Friday, August 1st.

Educational Theatre Company is ready for another side-splitting summer of hilarious original skits and sketches! Campers will learn basic comedy skills such as narrative focus, comedic timing, and creative use of one's voice. Friends and family will be invited to a final sharing of skits and sketches on the last day of camp, Friday, August 1st. This camp is perfect for new or returning campers. Falls Church Summer Camp registration opens the first week of February.

Learn to act on screen! Camp staff will work with each camper to hone their craft and learn to perform in a way appropriate to being captured on camera. This camp is perfect for beginners or campers who want more experience on screen with emphasis on understanding the shot, hitting their mark, and taking direction. Camp time will be split between workshops and acting exercises as well as actually acting in films! Acting on Screen campers will perform in the films made by Picture Up! filmmaking campers. Family and friends are invited to see campers on the big screen on Friday, August 8th.

Join ETC-on-Film for another week of filmmaking madness. Campers will focus on making films in various production roles, such as director, editor, writer, & director of photography, as they work to level up from Young Filmmakers, to Cineastes, to Auteurs. Any experience level is welcome so long as they’re passionate about filmmaking! Picture Up! Filmmakers will use campers from Acting on Screen as their actors. Collaborate with fellow filmmakers in the ever-growing ETC-on-Film Community! Family and friends are invited to see their films on Friday, August 8th.

Picture Up! Is an ETC STEAM Camp.

Write an original play! Campers will be guided through the playwriting process where they will create their own lines, plot, characters and setting. They will work together to explore narrative structure, character development, conflict, and self-expression. A reading of their new plays will be held on the last day of camp, Friday August 15th.

One last chance to close the gate on your big summer film, or start a new one! Campers receive staff guidance and creative freedom to direct, act, design, costume, score, shoot, and edit their own films as they work to level up from Young Filmmakers, to Cineastes, to Auteurs. Any experience level is welcome. Family and friends are invited to a screening of the camper's films on Friday, August 15th.
