Ashley Hammond joined Educational Theatre Company in 2006 as a camp assistant and after school teaching artist. During this time, she created ETC’s ESOL programming in elementary schools, established and directed the first SOL based original play model at Carlin Springs Elementary, founded ETC’s Page to Stage Camp, as well as directed several McKinley Main Stage Residencies. In addition to teaching, she soon began working administratively for the company as the Director of Arts Partnerships until 2014 when she became Managing Director and the first full time employee. Prior to joining ETC, Hammond received her BFA in Acting at the University of Kentucky in 2003 and toured with various children’s theatres performing and teaching all over the eastern part of the country, including The Virginia Stage Company, Cincinnati Children’s Theatre, and Lexington Children’s Theatre. In addition to ETC, Hammond teaches and directs youth classes and plays at the Little Theatre of Alexandria, and teaches public speaking classes at Georgetown University’s Continuing School of Education.
