ETC on Film

ETC on Film teaches students, through an independent, hands-on approach, all elements of a professional filmmaking process. Students work with ETC's professional teaching artists to experience the filmmaking process first-hand. From storyboarding to rehearsal to shooting to editing to publishing the films online students get to do it all using professional-grade equipment and software. This rigorous program teaches students valuable media literacy skills, in addition to encouraging time management, organization, cooperation, and self-direction.

ETC on Film Club Register Online
Calling all Filmmakers! Become a part of this weekly club at ETC's own Trinity Studios. Whether you're an experienced filmmaker or just starting out, you'll have the equipment, guidance and support you'll need to capture your vision on film. Master the filmmaking process from start to finish as you write, direct and edit your own films. ETC's professional teaching artists will be on hand to assist, but you sit in the director's chair. Two sessions available throughout the year.

Spring Break Teen Shakespeare Filmmaking Camp
ETC and partner WSC-Avant Bard present a one-week Shakespeare filmmaking intensive for teens of any experience level and a strong interest in film or theater. With the gleaming, futuristic spaces of Artisphere and Rosslyn's urban landscape as your locations and backdrops, you'll act, direct and edit short films based on Shakespeare's tragedy of friendship, politics, murder and civil war, JULIUS CAESAR.
Professional actors from WSC-Avant Bard will join us as guests, and camp staff will guide you through planning, shooting and editing, but YOU will be in the director's chair! Create your masterpiece in just five days and screen it for friends and family in Artisphere's iconic Dome Theater!

Summer Programs Registration Opens January 22nd

Camp Comedy Studios teen film camp
Now in our fourth summer, we are making Camp Comedy's teen filmmaking program official! Along with improv and other laugh-a-minute live activities, all teens at Camp Comedy make movies. Starting with rising 7th graders, CIT's, better known as Cineastes, learn to write, direct and edit silent comedies in the classic style. Veteran cineastes (rising 9th grade & up) will work on silents as well, but they'll also be presented with a brand new challenge this summer: Directing classic movie musicals! Join us for our potluck performance, the Comedy Smorgasbord Saturday July 27th, 11am - 2pm.

Shakespeare's Shorts
Explore the explosive alchemy of mixing classical theater with modern filmmaking. On location at Trinity's wooded campus and many surprising interiors, you'll get staff guidance but few limitations, as you direct, act, design, costume, score, shoot and edit your own films, based on Shakespeare's comedies, tragedies, histories, or romances of your choosing. Learn new skills, make new friends, collaborate, create, challenge & express yourself like nowhere else.
